North American Shapes

¡Mira!

scallion pancake shaped like USA

You can even see Cuba!

Scallion pancakes fried up in the shape of El Norte. Quite by accident.

Well OK, it was only in the process of trying to cut them into quarters that I noticed the resemblance to our mother country.  (I always thought of North America as sort of turkey-shaped.)

The kids and various friends fell on these, with no thought to how they weren’t exactly neat triangles.

Now if I can get my tofu squares to fry up looking like, I dunno, zombies or Flood, maybe I can get the 10-year-old boy to eat his stir fry.

Stay tuned….

Is it me, or does “Zombie Tofu” sound like a band name?

Or a lipstick color from one of those brands that they sell in punk rock places in the East Village?
